IT.IS.FREEZING out!! This morning I got up and it was -3 with -13 with wind--bbbrrrr I think we have been spoiled the past few years because it has not been this cold in a long time!! Now I am trying not to complain too much about all the snow and cold cause I know we need it desperatly--So I will be thankful for the snow and a good heater!!!
AND I want to say a HUGE thank you to my dear Ian who gets up at 3am and works till past 8 in this cold frigid weather--he is higher up than we are now so I bet it is colder!! So here is to all those husbands who work so hard for us out in this freezing weather while we are nice and warm adn cozy (extra prayers to them every day!!)

Kitchen

Today we tackeled the kitchen.  Most of you know me and I love to bake and cook--so I have about every gadget you can think of--way too many gadgets--lol So we scrubbed counters, reorganized the cabnets and got everything in a place. 
I some how had 6 9x13 pans, tons of glass cups...so I have a huge goodwill box ready to go--to the goodwill!! Now it is not perfect but so much better--the one cupboard I didnt get too was the recipe one--that will take all day!!

Happy New Year!!

SO with the Happy New Years comes thos resolutions...well I prefer reachable goals!!

1-back to the gym and stick with it this time
2-Date night with Ian twice a month (on his weekends off)
3-Ladies Nights Out once a month (cause mama needs a little break sometimes)
4-"Try" to do more one on one things with each of hte kids (easier said than done)
5-Get my finances in order--geez I really know how to drop the ball here But I am gonna try to do better
6-Clean up the clutter in the house--as of today we are moving forward on this--Kitchen is done (one room a day)
7-Find an awesome church and make Sundays all about family!!
8-Disneyland--not sure when this year (probably a Christmas gift to the kids)

that is all I can come up with right now, my mind is racing for sure trying to be and do better!!!

Bird feeder???

Grandpa put up a new bird feeder...now while observing it, grandma and I were trying to figure out the greenery at the top...is this to make the birds think it is a tree?? camouflage maybe?? Well I think we decided that somethings are just better left to be unknown when it comes the the Hyrup men!!!!

January 1

Yay it is a new year...to start all over right???!!!??? We spent the day at grandma and grandpas....we did nothing!! We ate blacked eyed peas and rice, custard pie, watched movies, knitted, read books, put puzzles together and played in the snow--now that is how you start the new year!!!

Simplify!!

So the quest continues for us to find "the" church..after 10 years at Fellowship..it seems (to me) that they have "lost it" for me in the past few years. SO I am on a quest to find a good church!! Every Sunday we are going to a new church to "try" them out!!

Today we went to Faith Heights church...now as we walked in I was not impressed because we were obviously lost and new, but no one offered help..hhhmmm But the praise and worship was very good!! and the Message was just what I needed!! The pastor I thought was good--kinda reminded me of those tv pastors though--kept shouting can I get an AMEN--lol

But today I got ALOT from his sermon!!

1st--JOY...DO NOT loose your JOY, no matter what!! WHY?? because GOD loves you and you shouldn't care about anything else--you must Believe in God and Believe God has a plan for you!! You should be joyful at all times (YES I do struggle with this ALL the time) I get pissy throw a fit when things don't go my way--well guess what..that must mean it is not supposed to go my way--Good Point huh

2nd-Forget the past--Because it is in the past!! Great Point!! I try to really do this!! I have forgiven those I have needed to...It is also said that those who don't forgive us--forgive them and move on--if they don't forgive you that is THEIR problem now--not yours--Great Words (wish I had that part before Christmas!!)

3rd-SIMPLIFY you life!! get rid of all necessary events, clutter, kids activities and so on.  Serving and Worshiping God should be #1..if you are to busy or tired to do so--you need to get rid of some things! But never get rid of your GOD time.  GREAT words there too...this past year we haven't been to church much--why? because I would rather sleep in and be lazy--OK OK I am working on changing that too.  He went on to say that serving God should not cause you any stress--Stress comes from not doing Gods will or trying to cram his will into my busyness--Don't BUMP God out!!

So I am not sure if this is "the" church as we have others to visit--this message was awesome and just what I needed to start the new year!!!

B-with chocolate and stir it, mix a egg and mix it and put it in the over for 5 minutes in a hot oven with fire on it. then you put sprinkles on them and eat them

It's Christmas Eve!!

We had our annual Christmas Eve potato soup dinner at Ian's aunties--so yummy!!  Got some pics of the kids by the tree, and they got to open their jammies (although the boys didnt like them too much)

 

It's begining to look alot like Christmas!!

WOO has it been a busy weekend...all goodies are made-puppy chow, oreo truffles, pb bars, chex mix, white trash mix, peanut clusters--Done with all that!!!
We made sugar cookies with Domma (well she made them, kids decorated them)
I got all the presents wrapped!!
AND....the snow is softly falling steadyly--so pretty!!

What we missed....

 YES DIET PEPSI!! It is funny all of us girls preferred diet pepsi over diet coke--but what what did we get on the ship--diet coke and it started tasting bad after awhile--and the ONLY place we find diet pepsi--Jamacia!!!

My Long time friends

So on our cruise we went with some of my good friends...

Meet Monte--Monte and I have known each other since kindergarten (yeah 31 years yikes) and we were fortunate enough to go all the way thru high school together--now we lost touch for many years but thanks to our social media we reconnected and he is one of my bestest friends!!

Now meet his better half Michelle-I met her "officially" like 5 or so years ago (or maybe more I forget) She is so fun to hang out with and she does a good job trying to keep Monte in line haha

Meet Jason--he is our friendly drug dealer--I mean pharmacist haha Now I think he went to middle school and high school with us.  He cracks me up on a daily basis, so glad we reconnected on FB too!!

 








 Now meet Lindsay--she is Jasons girlfriend (we tried to get them married many times hahahah) She is very sweet and fits right in with the rest of us crazies and she keeps Jason in line LOL I think she is a keeper for him!!

 

 

We had such a great time!! I can't wait to do it again with these great friends!!
